Ashmont Cycle Shop Ride

Now that the weather has improved and more people are riding and thinking about getting into or maintaining their shape the weekly Ashmont Cycles shop ride appears to be gaining momentum.  Generally there are two set times to head out 6:05 p.m. for the faster riders and 6:30 p.m. for a 12 – 14 mph group.  The past few weeks there have been 6 or 7 people leaving the shop in each group and usually one or two others are picked up along the way.  In addition, some folks who haven’t been able to make it to the shop by the start time have taken it on themselves to push on into the Blue Hills.  The nature of the loops that we do usually means that you run across other groups and riders somewhere along the way.

Here is the route from my Garmin for my past Wednesday’s ride.  Unfortunately the image wouldn’t embed so you’ll need to click on the link.  This is pretty much the long route but others do different variations on this as they like.

And one of the best parts of the ride is congregating with the group at the Ashmont Grill after the ride.  We had a nice group this past Wednesday and we congregated on the patio in front with our bikes nearby.

Hope to see you there next Wednesday!
