Dot Bike summer Meetting – Wednesday July 27th 6:00 p.m.
@ PhoHoa meeting room –
1356 Dorchester Ave
1356 Dorchester Ave
Dot Bike would like to invite you to celebrate warm bikey weather with an enjoyable evening of bike talk and mingling! There’s a number of hot topics for updates, and of course the more informal chatting the better. A group of us who has been involved in various projects behind the scenes is excited to share updates and discuss, and we need your help with some important tasks. If you’ve never been to a Dot Bike event before, all the more reason to come and learn more about what we do!
Agenda:
- New improved outreach kit — We have been working on great set of posters and flyers to to make it easy to both set up and have key information on-hand for “tabling” at events. Take a look at what we’ve got, suggest/provide additional resources, and lets talk about where we can set up in order to meet more Dot bikers and those interested in biking, as well as provide outreach about bike routes, safety, etc.
- Dot Ave update — Where are those lanes and sharrows?
- Fold-a-map! Did you know that the Boston Bike Map information is available En Español? Em Português? In Vietnamese?. Dot Bike has joined other neighborhood bike advocates and community volunteers to get the very useful Bike Map text translated. Help us fold and clip the translations for distribution. Do you have suggestions on where to distribute particular translations? Can you help with additional translations, especially Haitian Creole? Then we’d especially love to see or hear from you!
- Neighborhoods on two wheels — Our next door neighbor bike groups, JP Bikes, Rozzie Bikes, Allston-Brighton Bikes, and other similar groups are involved in all manner of interesting events and advocacy. Hear some highlights about what these groups are up to and how we adapt, or heck, steal their great ideas, and continue to collaborate with them.
- Your ideas — Is there a project you’ve been itching to work on or a biking issue you think needs to be addressed? This is your forum for discussion. And, help plan for upcoming events–neighborhood rides, Moving Planet, and more.
Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
