About Grimlocke Von Hecht

I moved to the Boston Metro area shortly after a house fell on my sister. Seeking vengeance, employment and maybe a little community support, I pedal my magenta and chartreuse franken-bike around our mean streets, shouting at drivers and menacing pedestrians. I'm evil, y'see? It's my M-O. If you're with me, hop on a bike and follow the sound of my cackle. If you're against me, then I'll get you, my pretty, and your little hipster friends, too.

Speak Up

TweetI emailed the Bicycle Transportation contact for Boston, Cambridge and Somerville about our choked bike lanes. Somerville got back to me, but only to tell me to send a request to 311. So I have, about a few streets. It … Continue reading

Safety for Cyclists: Very Much Conditional

TweetMaybe some of the money going to cycling infrastructure should be funneled into clearing out our bike lanes during the winter months, rather than putting in new bike lanes that will only be available to us during the summer. It’s … Continue reading

Maybe it’s time to give up.

TweetAnother cyclist was killed today. A tractor trailer turned in front of him on Comm. Ave. and he didn’t have time to stop. He died at the scene. From the reports I’m reading and the general feeling of the community, … Continue reading

The Other Side of the Coin

TweetAny biker knows that for every conscientious, considerate driver, there are about one hundred self-important motherfuckers who’d sooner run you down than use their blinker properly. I met one last night on the way back from a friend’s house at … Continue reading
